Eggs

The egg as a source of high quality protein can really give you more power. A recent study showed that people who eat fried eggs and toast for breakfast are feeling more hungry and eating less for lunch than when they eat a pepper (which has about a similar number of calories). Even when looking out for your cholesterol, an egg would fit perfectly into your daily diet. The egg yolk contains lutein and zeaxanthin – two antioxidants that keep your eyes healthy.

Orange

Only one large orange or a glass of juice is an excellent source of vitamin C. Vitamin C is essential for the production of white blood cells and antibodies. It is also a powerful antioxidant that helps and protects cells from radical damage and plays a key role in the production of collagen to strengthen the skin. Oranges are rich in both fiber and folic acid.

Broccoli

This green power plant is a package of vitamins C, A and K (which helps bones), as well as folic acid. There is another reason that broccoli is often ranked first on the list of healthy foods – it provides a healthy dose of sulforaphane, a type of isothiocyanate that is thought to prevent cancer by helping to stimulate the detoxification of enzymes in the body.

Spinach

Spinach is packed with important nutrients: vitamins A, C and K, as well as fiber, iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium and vitamin E. Spinach is a light, tasty and good source of folic acid, vitamin B (soluble in water) that helps form new cells, making it particularly important for pregnant women.
